Heading Home

Hello!

I can't believe how fast our time in Michigan has flown by! I have had so much fun showing Frentz Grand Rapids and Midland. He was able to experience bowling, a baseball game, McDonalds, BEAD stores, and so much more! He had a blast shopping for beads to continue his jewelry! ....he was like a kid in a candy store! It was encouraging for him to see people who had been down on past trips and meet new friends and see care and love our supporters have for Haiti. Thank you!!

I have been getting reports from HOPE House and it sounds like the children are doing very well! Jivenson is sitting, Mika is crawling, and Pierreline is feeling safe and secure in her new temporary home. We have a new mother we are supporting. She has 10 month twins, one boy and one girl. They weigh less than 10 lbs! Neither of them are able to eat and today we are trying to get them to a hospital to start IVs. Please keep them in your prayers.

Frentz, Dad, and I are leaving to drive to Miami this morning. We are driving a truck to the port to ship to Haiti. We desperately need this truck to continue and increase distributions. Frentz and I will fly to Haiti on Saturday morning at 9:40am. We just purchased tickets last night to return to Michigan on July 15th to bring Kelencia back for her heart surgery. As soon as I am back in Haiti I will continue with the process to obtain her medical visa. Please continue to pray for this to be a quick and easy process......visas are never easy, but with God anything is possible! (From Kim: Surgery has been scheduled for August 2nd) We will return to Haiti on August 5th just in time for a few weeks of teams!

The land for the orphanage has been purchased and cleared! Next week we hire a group of guys to begin digging to build a wall around the perimeter of our property. Our containers (housing) are expected to arrive in July and we hope to make our official move in August!

Please be praying that we receive a phone call from Food for the Poor soon to come and pick up our container! We have so many donated items waiting to be distributed! We are waiting for customs to clear it! We have teams coming June 14-21 and 21-28 and we hope to distribute the majority of the supplies in the containers during those weeks! The people in our adopted tent city in Les Bours are anxiously waiting for an actual tent! They have been sleeping in the mud under ripped sheets, sticks, and saran wrap for over months!

We are in the process of packing up another 20,000 lbs of supplies to be shipped in early June. Those of you in the Midland and Grand Rapids areas, you will receive an e-mail soon about packing--just thought I'd let in on that! :) We have a semi truck driver ready to make the trip to Florida for shipping. What a blessing!

Also, pray that we will have internet at the house soon! It is so frustrating not to have communication!

Thank you for your continued support and prayers! It means so much to all of us in Haiti! Hope to see you in July!

Blessings,

Mallery

Dear Friends,

Mallery sends greetings from Haiti. She is very excited to be coming home and catching up. I of course, can hardly wait until Wednesday night for her arrival!

Last Monday there was another tremor in Port-au-Prince. It was during the day and some of our friends in a school near our house were in quite a panic as they ran from inside their school building. I do not believe it affected the LaPlaine or Les Bours schools.

The children were thrilled with their sponsor Christmas boxes. Not one child looked at another's box and wanted what they had. The children were all so excited and thankful for what they received.
As Mallery was watching them open their gifts, so many times she thought how much they needed the items at this point in time!

Little Pierreline is progressing well! Praise God, and please continue to pray for her. She has not had a temper tantrum since last Monday and has not run a fever since Wednesday. I was blessed to hear her little voice talking to Mallery on the phone this afternoon. She sounded wonderful.

Well, our property is in the process of being purchased! YEA! This is very exciting. As I mentioned before it will be great for Hope House to be in the country, a little distance away from Port-au-Prince. We will be starting to build a wall around the property very soon. :)

This morning in Mallery's church, the worship songs were God of this City and Hail Jesus You're My King. Mallery said no one wanted to let go of the singing and worshiping to our God. She said the roof was raised! The minister talked about what God is doing in their city.

Please pray for Frentz. He is trying once again to get a visa. His appointment is Monday morning at 7:30 am. Mallery would really like to bring him to visit America.

I am sure Mallery will update you once she is home. Those of you in the Midland area, we hope to see you at the Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser this Friday evening!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

Blessings,
Marci (Mallery's mom!)
